Tyraji:
Spawn of Diraija
Grandspawn of D'baji and Skylark
Greatgrandspawn of P'rru
Grandniecespawn of K'rru
Second cousin of Kangarru, K'rru's daughter
Harper's Tale MOO: http://www.harpers-tale.com
Dragonriders of Pern is copywrite (c) 1987 to Anne McCaffrey.
Background:
Tyraji was the first born child of Diraija and a Cromite man named Tashilynon (more commonly known as Tash). She was raised in the mountains of Crom with her younger brother Dashiel where harsh winters weren't uncommon and long-winded tales (either fictional or nonfictional) of Grandpa D'baji and Great-Grandpa P'rru were standard bedtime stories.
Neither child knew very many people outside of the small group of cotholds that were home to her father's family until her tenth Turnday when Diraija informed her daughter that she'd be traveling with her father's brother Nheyano to join a Craft. Diraija knew that at least if none of the Crafts picked her up as a fosterling, Tyraji would certainly have picked up an interest to strive for apprentice in one Craft or another and could prepare herself for two Turns and make the journey again. Diraija was determined not to allow her capable and intelligent daughter to spend all her days in the backwoods of Crom when there was so much potential to achieve.
The journey introduced Tyraji to the Harpers and Healers in Fort, the Weavers and Farmers of Southern Boll, and obviously the sailors of Tillek's Master Sea Hold. But rather than interest in apprenticing in any of the Crafts as her mother had wanted, Tyraji plotted to see the eastern half of Pern.
She made fast friends with a dragonrider from Benden Weyr and made the hop to the furthest eastern Weyr on the continent. She almost instantly joined on with a group of traders. She toured through Bitra, Lemos, and down to Igen. But homesickness hit hard and, longing for familiar sights, she contacted her seafaring uncle to make it possible for her to board a ship in Igen Hold's bay and begin to make the trek back to western Pern, but the ship stopped in Ista Hold for repairs long enough for Tyraji to get ambition enough to go visit her mother's family in Ista Weyr. The childhood dream of her larger-than-life bronzeriding grandfather D'baji was more than enough to give her the enthusiasm she needed to beg a greenrider to take her up to the Weyr.
